Case Study: Automating email marketing campaigns
-
See a single customer view enables more targeted emails
-
Data quality is improved through synchronisation between systems
-
Time is saved as manual processes are removed
-
New types of emails can be sent that otherwise would not have been feasible due to the manual processes required
Maxemail has an Application Programming Interface (API) to enable CRM systems, web databases, content management systems and your other applications and databases to work hand in hand with Maxemail.
This enables you to automate many of the manual processes involved in setting up email campaigns such as:
-
Automate the import of data and synchronise Maxemail and your CRM system
-
Update your CRM databases with reporting information such as open, click, purchase, bounce and unsubscribes
-
Content can be pulled from content management systems and XML data feeds
-
Email campaigns can be entirely created by the API such as renewal reminders or automatic follow-ups to people requesting brochures on your website
The API uses industry standard cross platform web services technologies SOAP and XML-RPC. Whether your systems are based upon Microsoft or Linux it is easy to implement and has the full support of the Emailcenter development team.

Using
the Maxemail API to remove manual processes
Simply Media are a media company that produce a wide range of content channels including Avenue 11 the daily entertainment news service and The Baby Channel. Visitors to the Simply site are able to sign-up for a variety of email newsletters. Each newsletter they wish to request is tailored according to the information they provide.
As the newsletters have grown there has been the need to automate much of the production utilising the Maxemail API and other automation features. These include:
-
Double-opt-in form submissions go directly into the Maxemail database removing the need for CSV import
-
Content from the Simply XML news feeds is automatically parsed into each email template
-
Dynamic content template rules are used to personalise each email with the recipients preferred content topics
-
All bounce and unsubscribe reporting is used to update the lists for future use
