Using embedded images in your email marketing campaigns

The main way of including images in your HTML emails is to link to them. This means you are not actually including the image in the HTML file but when the email is opened all the images get pulled from your website.

However with image blocking now becoming more widespread with email clients an alternative is to embed images within the email message. This means when the email is opened the image will display even if image blocking is enabled.

How does this help your email marketing? Quite simply it means your messages are readable without the recipient having to do anything. Your brand is immediately apparent. Many Internet marketers believe using embedded images actually helps the response rate.

Of course there is a downside. Embedding an image within an email requires you to attach the image. This increases the size of your message and may cause a problem with some firewall software which could either strip the images out or block the message. The general consensus however is that blocking is minimal.

Maxemail users can easily embed images into their email marketing campaigns by using the attachment option when setting up the email.
