No matter how great the offer or how targeted the campaign there is no point in sending an email if it is going to get classified as junk mail and not seen by your customers.

Deliverability is an area that confuses many marketers, particularly as most email service providers and The Direct Marketing Association define deliverability rate as the list total minus any bounces - a totally inaccurate measure of how successful you are at avoiding junk mail filters. Most email identified as spam is not returned to you but simply disappears into a black hole.

At Emailcenter we prefer to use the term "Inbox Placement" when talking about delivery rates. This is the actual number of messages that arrive into your customers inbox. While this is harder to measure there are a number of independent 3rd party website's that provide this information and record our servers of achieving 95% + inbox placement.
