Maxemail Content Generator

The most resource required to put together email marketing messages goes into the generation of content. Often the main reason why email marketing activity does not achieve the expected level of ROI is there are not enough resources available to produce all of the required content for newsletters and other targeted, relevant email messages.

The Maxemail Content Generator enables marketers to simplify the production of their newsletters by automating much of the process and pulling content from existing sources into the email.

Key benefits:

  • Cut production time of newsletters from several hours to a few minutes
  • Reduces the need to duplicate content as this is simply pulled into the template
  • Requires absolutely no HTML knowledge
  • Emails are always populated with the very latest near real-time content
  • Thousands of variants can be automatically generated enabling highly personalised email campaigns

> How does Maxemail Content Generator work?

The Generator works by taking existing XML product data, RSS feeds or website content and re-formatting this into the required style for the email template. This can be done on an automated basis or marketers can manually choose the content through the wizard interface.

The content selected can be filtered based upon a number of rules such as:

  • Only include products that match a certain keyword, belong to a certain category or added within the last month
  • Limit the number of products & offers from a category to ensure there is wide variety of offers
  • Manual selection of items via a wizard interface
  • Set maximum and minimum number of items for publishing

Content Generator

In addition to pulling in content for the body of the email the Generator will also build content snippets used in campaigns that require dynamic content. Therefore the Generator can refresh thousands of snippets based upon your different products and then dynamic content rules define which recipients get which snippet.

When the content is pulled from the requested source the Generator applies formatting for the HTML and text versions of the email. This includes the fonts, colours and layout along with inserting relevant product images where required and is completely customisable.

Additional content and data sources can be added at anytime with the Emailcenter client services team on hand to provide any professional services in relation to data feeds and HTML formatting.

Simply Media
> Using the Wizard interface to cut newsletter production time

Simply Media have 12 websites that they produce weekly email newsletters for. Each newsletter has a series of news items that also appear in their RSS feeds. This was taking several hours each week to copy the content of each news item and paste it into the relevant email template.

The wizard cuts this down to a few minutes each week by following these simple steps:

1) Simply choose the RSS feed that they wish to pull items from

Content Generator - Choose RSS feed

2) Each item they wish to add is then selected by ticking a box next its news headline

Choose the news items

3) The formatting to apply & newsletter template they wish to add this news to is then selected

Formatting is applied

4) Maxemail pulls in the selected content, formats it as required and the newsletter is then ready for final changes such as changing old banner ads

toptable.co.uk
> Automated content generation for dynamically personalised emails

toptable.co.uk have restaurants in over 500 different locations throughout the UK. Traditionally the email newsletter has focussed entirely on central London alienating a large part of their database. Now using the ‘Content Generator’ combined with dynamic content rules each newsletter subscriber gets offers within their local area.

Each night the ‘Content Generator’ pulls in the latest restaurant offers, reviews and news for each location and turns this into HTML and text format that is used in the newsletter. A series of dynamic content rules sit against every email to then define based upon the persons location which set of offers, reviews and news the recipient should be sent.

If there are not enough offers for the recipients home or work postcode then Maxemail will send them the offers for their county, and if there are not enough offers for their county they will receive offers for their region of the UK which ensures the emails are as relevant as possible without excluding people who live in regions with few offers. Booking rates on these emails are around 70% better than non-personalised versions.
