Orange Shuts Down Email Addresses – How Does It Affect Your Subscriber List

Orange shuts down email service

From 31st May 2017, a number of Orange email addresses will be no more. So what does this mean for your email lists that contain any of these addresses?

As the number of Orange users has been in decline over the years they have decided to close a number of addresses.

The addresses that are affected are:

  • Orange.net
  • Orangehome.co.uk
  • Wanadoo.co.uk
  • Freeserve.co.uk
  • Fsbusiness.co.uk
  • Fslife.co.uk
  • Fsmail.net
  • Fsworld.co.uk
  • Fsnet.co.uk

What Does This Mean For Your Subscribers With These Addresses?

Well, the good news is that you don’t need to do anything! Any emails you send to these addresses will bounce and will be added to your Master Bounce List as normal by Maxemail.

Unfortunately, if your subscribers do not update you with a new address, you will lose them. They will have received notification a number of months ago about the closure of these addresses and should have started to update their details.

You still have a few days to get in touch with those subscribers and obtain a new email address. You could easily create a segment targeting all of these addresses and ask them to update their details.
