Email Of The Month – August

Email of The Month

Like the majority of office workers, I receive an influx of daily emails – but what makes an email stand out? Take a look at my favourite email received in August…

I’m starting this series with an email from D&D London celebrating National Burger Day!

Lets start with the subject of this email – ‘National Burger Day 🍔 ‘. The burger emoji instantly stood out from the rest of the standard subject lines in my inbox and tapped into my inner emoji obsession (I genuinely struggle to send a text without one). I love a national day but was unaware there was a national burger day so, once I saw this subject I was immediately excited for a day dedicated to the humble hamburger.

Moving onto the actual email, the feature image is a gif of a burger being built – which I love!! It’s so simple yet so effective. The anticipation of what’s going to be added to the next stack of the burger really caught my attention as well as adding character and energy to the email – which can sometimes be tricky with static images.

Onto the rest of the body of the email – ‘We’ve got buns, hun’ really targeted my inner hun. It’s a short, catchy subtitle that made me laugh a little and encouraged me to read on further. The images underneath are laid out in a clean and minimalist way with clear call to actions making information easy to take in and click if desired.

The overall email is fresh and simple with an injection of humour and on trend components which, when combined together, make a pretty engaging email in my eyes! The only downside was my level of hunger increasing by the time I had reached the bottom of the email.
